Services and area
What services does NR Instalaciones offer?
We offer climate control (installation, maintenance and repair of air conditioning and heating), electrical work (installations, faults and consumer units) and plumbing (leaks, blocked drains, pipework and taps). One professional for all three trades, so you do not have to coordinate several.
Which areas do you cover?
We work in Estepona, Marbella, San Pedro de Alcántara, Benahavís, Mijas, Fuengirola, San Roque, Sotogrande and La Línea de la Concepción. We only serve those towns. If you are not sure your address is included, message us your postcode before asking for a quote.
Do you serve Sabinillas or Manilva?
No. Those towns are outside our service area. We tell you this up front so you do not waste time on a quote we could not honour.
Do you work with homeowners, communities and businesses?
Yes. We work with homeowners, owners' communities (comunidades de propietarios), property administrators (administradores de fincas) and commercial premises that need air conditioning, electrical and plumbing maintenance in one or several properties.
Do you speak English?
Yes. We work in Spanish and English, including on WhatsApp, with the international community of the Costa del Sol in mind. Write to us in whichever language you prefer.
Quotes, hours and response
How do I get a quote?
Message us on WhatsApp at +34 669 610 327 with the service and your area and, if you can, a photo of the unit or the fault. You can also call. With that we can advise you before the visit and quote faster.
What information do you need to quote?
A photo or short video of the problem, what is happening and since when, the type of property (home, community building or business) and your area. For air conditioning, a photo of the model label helps a lot.
How quickly do you reply?
We reply within 2 hours during working hours. If you write outside working hours, we answer when the next working day starts.
What are your opening hours?
We work Monday to Saturday, 8:00 to 19:00, excluding public holidays. We do not offer a 24-hour service. Urgent repairs are handled within those hours.
Air conditioning and climate control
How often should I service my air conditioning?
Once a year is the usual reference, before the hot weather starts. If the unit is used heavily or has not been serviced for a while, do it sooner. That way you avoid finding a fault in the middle of a heatwave. Read the guide
Why is my air conditioning not cooling?
Common causes are dirty filters, an obstructed outdoor unit, low refrigerant from a leak, or a failed component. Check mode, temperature and filters first; if it still does not cool, it needs a professional diagnosis. Read the guide
What should I do if my air conditioning leaks water?
Switch it off, protect the floor and message us a photo. It is usually a blocked drain or an installation problem. Do not use it while it leaks: the water can damage walls and nearby appliances. Read the guide
Can I top up the air conditioning gas myself?
No. Handling refrigerant requires certification and, if gas is missing, there is usually a leak to find and repair. Topping up without repairing only delays the problem.
Electrical
Why does the RCD (diferencial) keep tripping?
It trips when it detects earth leakage, from a faulty appliance, damp in a socket or damaged wiring. Do not keep resetting it: unplug appliances one by one to find the cause, or call an electrician. Read the guide
When should I check or replace the consumer unit?
When the property is old and the unit has never been replaced, breakers trip often, you notice heat or a smell at the unit, or you are adding high-power appliances such as air conditioning or an electric car charger. Read the guide
What should I do if a socket gets hot or smells of burning?
Cut the power to that circuit, unplug what is connected if it is safe, and do not use that socket until a professional has checked it. If there is thick smoke or flames, leave the property and call 112. Read the guide
Plumbing
What should I do if I have a water leak at home?
Close the main stopcock, cut the power to the area if there is a risk near sockets, protect furniture and floors, take photos or a video, and contact your insurer and a plumber. The earlier you act, the less damage. Read the guide
How do I prevent blocked pipes?
Do not pour grease, wipes or food scraps down the sink or toilet, fit drain strainers and clean the traps from time to time. Avoid harsh chemical products, which can damage pipes. Read the guide
Is it better to repair or replace a dripping tap?
If the tap is in good condition, replacing a washer or cartridge is usually enough. If it is very old, corroded or leaks in several places, installing a new one is normally worthwhile. Read the guide
