When the air conditioning blows but does not cool, the cause may be simple or a fault. These are the checks you can make before calling, and the signs that a professional is needed.

- Mode and temperature: confirm it is in cooling mode with a temperature clearly below the room's.
- Remote and batteries: a faulty remote can send wrong commands.
- Filters: if they are very dirty, less air passes through and cooling drops.
- Windows and doors: with the room open to the outside, the unit cannot keep up.
Causes that need a check-up
- A dirty or obstructed outdoor unit that cannot release heat properly.
- Low refrigerant caused by a leak.
